Endoscopic balloon dilatation is a useful alternative to surgery in patient with benign pyloric stenosis caused by duodenal
ulcer. However, there is little report about passing through pyloric stenosis with balloon dilatation using duodenoscope
during Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). We report a 90 year-old woman¡¯s case of passing through benign pyloric stenosis with balloon dilatation observed accidentally during a duodenoscope insertion for ERCP, which caused by pyloric and duodenal ulcer. Duodenoscope could not pass through pyloric stenosis initially, but gastroscope which is thinner than duodenoscope could pass. The pyloric stenosis was successfully dilated with endoscopic balloon dilatation using duodenoscope, and duodenoscope could pass through the dilated pylorus at the same time. Then, we performed the planned ERCP with duodenoscope safely.
